Giant robots fighting Angels?

Oz? Whuzzat?

Yeah, like, Angels were attacking my city so people piloted EVAs.

Oz is my world, I'm not living there anymroe thought, because of the witch Hunters and the evil Wizard.

I never heard of them. You're a pilot too?

Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting that there are other worlds now. It's kinda weird, huh?

No, it ain't that, s'just I kinda got selected to pilot a robot and then I was pulled into another world or something, like, I landed somewhere that wasn't Tokio. Now I ain't sure what to do.

What's exactly the job of a pilot? I know that you fight Angels, but I really don't know what you mean by that.
